Miscellaneous updates.

Like the new look of my blog? I know I change the design of it often but once I get an idea in my head for a new look I just have to do it. This time around I went for simple elegance and easy navigation. Some specific things I like about it include: the ability to post full-size pictures, faster page loading as a result of less dependence on outside web content, and it's lack of cluttered/needless information. I think its girly and fun and if a blog could "look like me", this would be the one. Hopefully I haven't missed any coding glitches. I guess we'll soon find out. Oh and anyone recognize the header picture? We used it on our Save-the-Date cards two years ago - I still love it!

You also may have noticed that I've changed "Thankful Thursdays" to "Thankful Thoughts". I know you've all just been the on the edge of your seat wondering why (ha!). Fact is, I really am thankful on all the different days of the week and haven't liked being confined to posting my thoughts only on Thursdays. So with a simple name change, the problem is solved and I will now post my thankful thoughts and ramblings whenever I want.

As an update to my surgery last Friday, I have been feeling much, much better. I'm not quite 100% yet and still have some pain when talking or eating, but I'm definitely on the mend! I get my stitches out next Thursday and am hoping by then that pain will be a thing of the past. Again, I am so glad I only have to go through this once.

I mentioned this briefly before, but Jake has decided to definitely put the T-44 track first on his track select dream sheet. He seems to think that the chances of actually getting it are slim and that we should assume we will be staying in Columbus for T-1 training, so that's what I'm trying to do; but you never know so we'll just have to wait and see. That being said, I am now anxiously awaiting February 17th!

Blog Timeline

Here's a little guide to how my life has evolved since this blog first started back in 2008. Looking back now, I've gone through some very distinct and significant chapters. The archives at the bottom follow along accordingly :)

December 2008-July 2010:
Graduating from college, experiencing life as newlyweds, moving to the far-away land of Mississippi, enduring the hectic lifestyle of Air Force pilot training, discovering my passion for web design, and transitioning into life as a real "grown-up".

August 2010- December 2010:
Moving back in with my parents in California while Jake was away at training in Oklahoma, living in a complete state of "limbo", growing my newly launched web design business, and loving life back on the best coast - oops! - I mean west coast ;)

January 2011- March 2012:
Discovering what it's like to have life-altering medical issues, struggling through tragic loss, physical pain, emotional pain, never-ending doctor's appointments and medical tests, all while trying to start our new life at Travis AFB... Learning to trust God even in the darkest times and constantly praying for healing.

April 2012- Present Day:
Experiencing healing from my physical pain, enjoying a career that I absolutely love, making the most wonderful friends here at Travis, and striving to live every single day to the FULLEST. God is so good! John 10:10 - Read it :)

Jaren Rabe said...: Isn't it weird how each class is so different? If Jake were in 10-12he would get 44's for sure since nobody put them first in that class. Then some classes have 10 people put them first. You just never know!!!
